When I suddenly stopped attending elders wanted to meet with me but I told them there is no point because I have doubts that cannot be resolved. Still, some came around uninvited; I welcomed them in, but when they tried digging I simply repeated the statement 'I have doubts, I don't want to talk about them'- they left soon after.
Remember- having doubts is not a disfellow offense neither is not wanting to talk about them.
Still, best to avoid the meeting altogether. You know their motive and you know you're not going back-the meeting can achieve nothing good.
A warm welcome to the forum!
time to take a break from debating religion.
take in a breath of fresh air and be healed by the wonders of nature around you.. how many of you have a garden?
how many have a nice flower patch to go with your vegetable garden?
Very refreshing post! I will be sharing it with the family later, it sounds like a nice project. -on a side note one of the first things we did after leaving the Borg was buy 3pairs of walking boots, instead of being bored in KH on Sunday mornings we saw some of nature's wonders last summer.
Again, thanks for the suggestion!
some statistics.
this graph charts national responses to the statement, "human beings, as we know them, developed from earlier species of animal," and show some strange bedfellows.. .
as you see, a huge majority (70% and higher) of western europe people surveyed, accept evolution (in some form).
just thought i'd introduce myself and share my story.
up front, i'm not bitter.
okay now that that's out the way..... i first heard "the truth" when i was about 14 years old from a friends mom who was studying.
Thanks for your story, agreed God would let us know unequivocally what the truth is. It is sad not to have all the answers- but then we never did have them...
Welcome to freedom.
just signed up and wanted to introduce myself.
i had 1 x-mas and 1 birthday before both my parents joined the jw's around 1966 or 67 being 1 year old i don't remember them (the holidays), to this day holidays are nothing to me (thanks jw's).
i never really believed the bible or jw literature.
Hello!! Welcome! And thanks for your story!
today's text -.
sunday, january 24. they collected the fine ones into containers, but the unsuitable they threw away.—matt.
13:48.. understanding the lesson of this illustration helps us to avoid being overly distraught or disappointed if a bible student or one of our children does not make the truth his own.
The watchtower interpretation of the verse is not logical. The person that decides to leave or not join watchtower is 'unsuitable', but then if that same person decides to come back to watchtower he is then no longer 'unsuitable'- this means its the individual's choice whether to be unsuitable or not, but according to the text it was the fisherman's choice.
It's just another example of murdering a scripture to make it more 'suitable' for the cult.
yup a mentally diseased apostate.. http://youtu.be/e7qmypu7mxo.
Derek, if you're listening get yourself a pair of handcuffs mate and lock yourself to one of the seats in the middle of a row! There'll be hundreds of helpless JW attendants panicing! It'll be a right comedy show!
Just don't do it in the deaf loop section!

hey all.
i haven't posted in forever and a day, but i feel like this is a great place to ask this question because of so many people who are unsure of their beliefs.
my mom was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer about four years ago.
Thank you for sharing your moving story! I wish I was qualified to answer, but I am not. I just wish to send you my condolences.
